University Hospitals of Geneva

Uniting 8 different hospital units, and employing more than 13 000 employees, the University hospitals of Geneva is one of the largest hospital complexes in Switzerland. Connected to the University of Geneva, it’s also a major research institution, and a pioneer in a variety of fields.  Among the frontiers they keep exploring is the possibilities of using psychedelics in clinical treatment within compassionate use.

University of Fribourg

Situated right on the line that divides the French speaking region of Romandy, from the German speaking part of Switzerland, the University of Fribourg it is the country’s only bilingual university. Home to a  research unit working with psychedelics, and the student association Psychedelic Research Organization of Fribourg (PROOF), it’s a key location in the Swiss Psychedelic Landscape. 

University of Basel

Switzerland’s oldest university, close to the German border, the University of Basel is home to several research groups working with psychedelics. Some of their research was presented at last year’s ALPS conference, and we are eager to see what comes next as they keep contributing to the continuing growth of psychedelic sciences. 

University of Zürich

The University of Zurich's Psychedelic Research & Therapy Development group, led by Dr. M. Scheidegger, aims to explore the therapeutic potential of psychedelics like ketamine, psilocybin, ayahuasca and DMT for treating stress-related mood disorders and enhancing psychotherapy. Their neuroscientific research findings are being used to develop novel, safe, rapid-acting and sustainable therapies for affective disorders.

Schweizerische Ärztegesellschaft für Psycholytische Therapie

Schweizerische Ärztegesellschaft für Psycholytische (SÄPT) Therapie was founded in 1985 as an association at the suggestion of Peter Baumann, MD. In the meantime, it has developed into a professional society with currently about 120 members, mainly from Switzerland and Germany. Its statutory purpose is to make psychoactive substances accessible for practical psychotherapeutic use, to control their handling, to stimulate further research and to offer the theoretical and practical training necessary for their application. The SÄPT is a historic, essential and supportive association in the development of psychedelic assisted therapies in Switzerland. We are proud to count it among our partners.

MindMed

MindMed is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company developing novel products to treat brain health disorders, with a particular focus on psychiatry, addiction, pain and neurology. Their mission is to be the global leader in the development and delivery of treatments that unlock new opportunities to improve patient outcomes. They are developing a pipeline of innovative drug candidates, with and without acute perceptual effects, targeting the serotonin, dopamine and acetylcholine systems.

California Institutes of Integral Studies

California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) is an accredited university that strives to embody spirit, intellect, and wisdom in service to individuals, communities, and the earth. Interdisciplinary Conference on Psychedelic Research

ICPR 2022 is one Europe’s pioneering and leading conference on psychedelic science and therapy, organised by the OPEN Foundation in Amsterdam since 2007. Paul Stamets, Katrin Preller, David Nutt, Erika Dyck, Roland Griffiths, Monnica Williams, David Nichols, and up to 100 speakers will discuss rigorous science, critical perspectives, and psychedelic therapies on September 22nd-24th, 2022.

Mind Foundation

The MIND Foundation is a European non-profit science and education organization that promotes psychedelic research and therapy. Their work builds on the neurobiological and psychological potential of psychedelics to improve mental health and well-being in a clinical setting.

They organize every two years INSIGHT conference, their next edition happen the 31.08.2023-03.09.2023 and places an additional focus on psychedelic neuroscience and societal topics such as non-clinical forms of use, psychedelics and mindfulness in the business world, the philosophy of psychedelic experience, patient and therapist spiritualities, and learning from indigenous communities.

Nordic Psychedelic Science Conference

Hosted by the Norwegian Association for Psychedelic Science the Nordic Psychedelic Science Conference (NPSC) can be described as the ALPS Conference’s Nordic counterpart. Launching in its first edition this spring, the NPSC aims to open the conversation about the potential that lies in psychedelics, stimulating the growth of psychedelic science in the Nordic countries. Through our partnership with NPSC we hope to contribute to their growth, and create new possibilities for scientific exchange and cooperation across borders.

The Polish Psychedelic Society

The Polish Psychedelic Society works to popularize and support scientific research on psychedelic substances and to provide space for essential debate regarding their potential application in science, medicine, psychotherapy and culture, which might positively contribute to the development of society. To achieve this, the Polish Psychedelic Society brings together experts representing multiple areas of science and numerous professions, supporting the development of science and debate on psychedelics in Poland. If you think this sounds like ALPS Polish cousin, then you are entirely correct!

Finnish Association for Psychedelic Research

Finnish Association for Psychedelic Research is a multidisciplinary organization promoting psychedelic science in Finland, bringing together professionals, and advancing cooperation with the international research community. Just like ALPS, they organize symposia, lectures and networking events centered around psychedelic sciences.

Nachtschatten Verlag

Nachtschatten Verlag is a Swiss non-fiction publisher on the subject of drugs. It was founded in 1984 by Roger Liggenstorfer. The publishing house initially offered books on addictive substances, drugs and mind-altering plants and substances at a sales stand. The first own title published in 1984 was the book Hemp in Switzerland. Nachtschatten Verlag publishes almost exclusively books, field reports and scientific studies on LSD, hashish and mushrooms as well as other hallucinogens. Writings on drug policy issues as well as on the history and cultural background of drugs are also offered

Psychedelic Association Fuerteventura

The Psychedelic Association Fuerteventura brings together a community on Fuerteventura that is interested in therapies and research with psychedelic substances. They invite medical professionals and individuals interested in the therapeutic use of psychedelics to our first Psychedelic Conference on Fuerteventura: www.psychedelicconference.org. During this conference, They aim to discuss the future use of psychedelic substances, establish contacts and generate alliances with hospitals, research institutes and others to promote the legal use of psychedelics in Spain. It is a pleasure for ALPS to collaborate with local entities that share the same goals !

Psychedelic Society Belgium

The Belgian Psychedelic Society aims to organize educational days to gather sources of interest and interested parties, with a clear goal to objectively inform our society about the influence of psychedelics on quality of life. They strive to raise funds for psychedelic research in Belgium, as well as engaging with policy makers to open up for therapeutic use of psychedelics.

The French Psychedelic Society

The French Psychedelic Society was founded in 2017 by a group of academics. Their work is threefold, trying to stimulate interest and knowledge about psychedelics, in the public, in research and in policy making. Through their efforts, they do their part in spreading evidence based knowledge about psychedelics and their effects. Be it through seminars, symposia, supporting theses on psychedelics, movie nights, and psychedelic integration circles.

Oxford Psychedelic Society

The Oxford Psychedelic Society is a student association of the University of Oxford. Close to one of the key locations of the psychedelic renaissance, they host a variety of workshops, lectures and social events, as well as engaging with the political issues surrounding psychedelics.  Just like their Swiss counterparts, they work to forward psychedelic research and spread evidence based knowledge about psychedelics. We are honoured to count them among our partners, contributing to the global discussion about the future of psychedelic science.

MAPS - Psychedelic Science 2023

One of the harbingers of the psychedelic renaissance, the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Science (MAPS), is organizing the world's largest conference on psychedelic sciences in Denver, Colorado, on June 17th-25th 2023. As a community partner, we in the ALPS team can hardly contain our excitement! The Psychedelic Science 2023 conference will be an event to be remembered. We’ll see you there!

Alaya Foundation

The Alaya Foundation was established in the Canton Ticino, Switzerland, in 2012, but its roots go back to the early 1990s with the creation of the Centro al Dragonato in Bellinzona, a socio-professional rehabilitation center for individuals with mental health issues and for the deinstitutionalization of psychiatric patients.

Since 2021, it has been organizing seminars and events aimed at professionally and rigorously promoting Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy in Italian, based on the latest scientific evidence in the field. It also organizes more specific training courses for professionals interested in practicing this innovative form of therapy

PsychedeliCare

The PsychedeliCare Initiative is the first European Citizens' Initiative dedicated to raise awareness about the benefits of psychedelic-assisted therapies (PATs) for mental health in the EU. Through a year-long European campaign, the initiative aims to collect one million signatures to formally call on the European Commission to ensure equitable, timely, affordable, safe, and legal access to PATs in the EU.
