I am a medical doctor specializing in psychiatry. My career thus far has shown me the strengths and limitations of different treatments for psychiatric diseases. Based on research findings and clinical and personal experience, I believe that psychedelics can open new possibilities in the domain of psychiatry and psychotherapy.

The gradual introduction of this type of treatment into psychiatric practice is not without its challenges. Although we have a wealth of precious knowledge spanning millennia, modern research in the field stagnated for many decades before the relatively recent renewal of scientific interest. We need a more solid understanding of the risks and benefits of psychedelics on both the neurobiological and clinical levels. Additionally, we need to educate the public efficiently and responsibly.

Given all of the above, I believe that ALPS is doing important work, and I have decided to offer my services and expertise as a volunteer.
