The Psychedelic Research Organisation of Fribourg invites you to the talk: "Psychedelics: Pay Attention, Expand Consciousness?" which will take place on 14.12.2022 at 11.00 at the University of Fribourg, room PER 17 001.
Jason K. Day will explain how the common characterisation of psychedelic experiences as an "expansion of consciousness" can be understood in terms of certain extreme changes to attention. These attentional changes restructure experience: changing what is present and more or less prominent in consciousness. The result is what people commonly call an "expansion of consciousness" on psychedelics.
Jason K. Day is a PhD candidate in philosophy at the University of Fribourg. His research is on the phenomenology of psychedelic experiences, specifically on attention therein as a way of understanding whether "psychedelic experiences" are a common kind of experience.
